I would appreciate some feedback about price of JD 4600. I visited a nearby JD dealer today and was quoted 20,700 with a 513 rotary cutter, HST, 4WD, and DSCV. This includes tax. Thanks in advance. This is a long time JD dealer in my area and was also told that I could get it within a month. Is this realistic or are they just trying to snag my cash? All responses appreciated.

I got a 4600; MFWD; W/12 spd. Powereverser W/creeper; R4's; and loader hydraulics for $18,500. I have had the tractor 3 weeks. I love it. The Powereverser is a great transmission...I think I like it better than HST. ....

Congratulations to both of you on the new 4600! I've always liked that manual with the quick reverse myself. It reminds me of the old "shuttle shift" that JD has offered as an option on smaller tractors since the mid 1950's. The reverser makes a nice combination of manual transmission and handy operation. I bought a 4600 HST with MFWD, R4s, 460 loader for 25K. A good dealer looked around and found one for me in 2 weeks. Had a 950 for years but I'll take the 4600 with HST any day. No shifting !! Only thing I don't like is the exaust outlet underneath. I seem to inhail a lot of diesel smoke. Anyone else have this problem ?? ....

Hey Jack,I like the smell of Diesel fumes...but we have another tractor with a vertical exhaust, and it is just as bad.How does the "float" position work on your loader? Had to take mine back to the dealer to get him to look at it.Dwight ....
